The Gospel of John

John was only twenty-something years old that day. It was just another day in his family’s fishing business. Along with his brother James and his dad Zebedee, they had done well for themselves fishing the Sea of Galilee. Business was so good that they owned a boat and had enough cash flow to have servants to assist them. On that day they were in their boat mending nets when a man walked toward them and called them. He told them that if they came with Him, He would make them fishers of men!
If you were twenty-something with a promising financial future what would you have done? John and his brother left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him.
The man who called John and his brother was only about thirty years old. He was from a town with a bad reputation in the hills above the Galilee, a place called Nazareth. John’s life would never be the same because of that young man who called him. But neither would the rest of the world! The man’s name was Jesus.
