High School
ON HOLD FOR THE SUMMER - Tuesday Night High School Bible Study
Tuesday Night Bible Study is from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the Youth Room. Join us as we study through 1 John, verse by verse, and hang out together. I often hear from teens that when they read their Bibles, they are confused and don’t understand what they just read. So, on Tuesday nights we are currently teaching high schoolers the process of Prayer, Observation, Interpretation, and Application as a guide to help them as they study God’s Word.
If you have ever been watching a movie or reading a book that just kept you on the edge of your seat, let me encourage you that the same can be true with the Bible when you learn to dig in and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and help you. You will daily be encouraged, directed, and challenged in your understanding of how great our God is and how He has a plan for each our lives.
We use the process of: Prayer, Observation, Interpretation, and Application as a guide to help us study the Bible.
- Prayer: We ask for God’s help to understand and apply His Word.
- Observation: We ask as many questions as we can, reference other verses, and look up words in the Greek.
- Interpretation: We look for the author’s intended meaning in the passage and ask ourselves, what does God want me to know?
- Application: We ask ourselves what does this mean for me? How can I apply this to my life?
