All of Metro Youth meets on Sundays in the Youth Room following the 11:00 am worship time in the main service.

Youth Calendar

Jr. High Monday Night Bible Study

Our Monday Night Bible Study meets from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Youth Room. Our night consists of eating pizza, hanging out, studying the Bible, worshiping, and playing a game. I often hear from students that they don’t know how to read their Bible… and, if they do read their Bible, they don’t understand what they read. God has shown me that for the Jr. High Bible study, I need to teach to them how to read and understand the Bible. This way the students will be equipped to study God’s Word for themselves. We are currently going verse by verse through the book of Colossians.

We use the process of: Prayer, Observation, Interpretation, and Application as a guide to help us study the Bible.

1. Prayer: We ask for God’s help to understand and apply His Word.
2. Observation: We ask as many questions as we can, reference other verses, and look up words in the Greek.
3. Interpretation: We look for the author’s intended meaning in the passage and ask ourselves, what does God want me to know?
4. Application: We ask ourselves what does this mean for me? How can I apply this to my life?

Parents of Jr. High & High school students,

At the start of each school year, I begin by praying that God will show us how to best minister to the youth because we never want to bank on what God did in the past. The new school year has come around and God really showed me that we can have more time for worship, fellowship, prayer, and studying God’s Word (without having to rush) by having Jr. High bible study on Monday nights during the adult service (from 7-9pm) and High school bible study on Tuesday’s nights from 6:30-8:30pm. The starting date for this change will be October 26^th. We are very excited about this new schedule because in the past we have felt so limited on time with each group. Please continue to pray for God’s leading this year.
